While you are staying with us there are a few places that you really should visit. The Otways is a magical destination and demands that you have a good look around. Apollo Bay is well situated for you to take advantage of all that this spectacular area has to offer. Having a location right on the Great Ocean Road will enable you to enjoy all its delights. The beaches on the Great Ocean Road will most probably be high on your checklist as they always tick the box with both adults and kids and there is definitely no shortage. Heading inland into the Great Otway National Park will bring you to our marvellous temperate rainforests and waterfalls that are very easy to access thanks to the good works of Parks Victoria. The Otway Fly also has its home in these forests and it’s always a good option to do the Fly and waterfalls on the same day. Don’t hesitate to ask us for information. Another of our major attractions in this area is the Cape Otway Lightstation. This is the oldest surviving lighthouse on mainland Australia and is well worth a visit. The road heading towards the lighthouse is also where you will find koalas. There are a lot of koalas at the end of the Cape Otway Road. When you visit here please drive carefully and slowly and do not park in the middle of the road. It happens! For the very active amongst you there is the Great Ocean Walk. Apollo Bay takes pride of place at the very start of this internationlly recognised walk. The total walk is about 100 kilometres and ends at the famous 12 Apostles but it is split into manageable sections where most people will do only one or two sections on any given day. There is a brilliant Great Ocean Walk Shuttle Service available so there is no need to worry about your car – they can do everything for you. If you intend to stay somewhere else either before or after us then a very good guide available is the Great Ocean Road Accommodation Directory.
